The indoor concert season of autumn 2017 has been hectic! I've had the opportunity to see a couple of really great shows with bands and artists that were new to me, that's a wonderful bonus to being a concert photographer. First up was The Black Angels from Austin, Texas. Their show at Debaser on September 11 (gallery at http://gaffa.se/galleries/gallery/62474)was filled with colorful projections, making it difficult to understand how the band could even concentrate on their instruments:
Vasas flora och fauna is a real treat for connoisseurs of finland-swedish pop. Admittedly a fairly small genre, but that doesn't stop this band from filling their shows with loyal fans wishing to listen to beautiful melodies and somewhat depressing lyrics. They played at Södra teatern/Kägelbanan on October 6 and you find the full gallery at http://gaffa.se/galleries/gallery/62569.
Playing at the neighbour scene of the of Södra teatern theatre on October 12, Susanne Sundfør from Norway also managed to fill the hall without difficulties. As an artist she often performs uptempo, beat based electronic music, but this time it was her other personality that came to shine, armed with only an acoustic guitar and a piano. And her magical voice, of course. Full gallery at http://gaffa.se/galleries/gallery/62585.
